The Vice-Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada, M. Tomenko on Saturday took part in the celebration and opening of the military-historical festival "Khotynska Tverd" during which the historical reproduction of the Khotyn Battle, year 1621 was held as well as the presentation of the hotel complex "Fortress of Hetmans".

 

"After the Tymoshenko government supported in year 2005 the Khotyn fortress reconstruction and in year 2007 the fortress became one of the seven historical-cultural wonders of Ukraine, interest in the object and the quantity of visitors have considerable increased", - he explained.

 

During the presentation of the historical-cultural complex "Fortress of Hetmans" M. Tomenko has positively evaluated the fact that local power and the business were have appreciated the necessity of the tourist infrastructure ordering.

 

The Vice-Chairman has also pointed out the attention on the fact that "Ukraine lacks the historical tourism as a many foreigners as well as Ukrainians do not know a lot about historical context of the famous architectural and cultural monument".

 

M. Tomenko has also pointed out the attention on the necessity of the thorough preparation of the guides throughout the Ukraine in order to present the objects on the necessary level and expressed that it is not possible that the excursions on Ukrainian objects must be held by the foreign guides.

 

In the end, M. Tomenko announced that the experience of the historical tourism on the example of the Khotyn fortress needs generalization and implementation in other regions and informed that he plans the conference with the participation of the action "7 Wonders of Ukraine" and "7 Natural Wonders of Ukraine" winners aiming at the experience in the sphere of tourism share.
